Assignment 5 : PowerPoint Interaction was my first time creating an interactive powerpoint. This was my first time creating a game on powerpoint and it taught me alot. I learned how to make disbale the normal navigation buttons. Next time I will make answer slides instead of addding the transitions on the slide. I like the assignment and this is a tool I will use in my future classroom. I can use data collection surveys in multiple ways in my classroom. I can use it to ask my students about themselves or how/ what they want to learn so I know what works best for them. I can use data collection surveys when planning an event for my students. Data collection surveys let me know what instersts the audience I am surveying. In my classmates' blogs I seen that althoough they were online they really enjoyed being able to connect with classmates through group assignments and blog posts.  I have learned alot in EME2040. My class was asynchronous. The course has taught me how to use educational tools on a computer such as twitter and diigo. This course has introduced me to tools that I have not used in other classrooms but well use in my own. The class is rigorous as it introduces you to tools that one may not know exactly how to use yet the grading process expects you to be a master of the tools. Open educational resourcs are websites and materials that are available to the public for educational uses. These materials can include all of the follwoing forms: lectures, notes, and sylubi. The article I chose opens stating how it is good to save money by providing students with free or low cost textbooks. The writer does not feel that this should be the determining factor on what types of textbooks we use to teach. We should determine which books are used based on the content and quality of the books.   Pages on a school website are beneficial for students and teachers so that they are able to access necessary information when not present in schools. The websites provide emails so that you may contact the teacher if a parent has any questions. The page allows parents and students to know about course content for all of this teacher's classes. In this new generation technology use in the classroom is common.  I have never used Diigo before I used it in this course. It has taught me so many thing I didn't even know I could do on websites. It taught me how to bookmark articcles and add sticky notes. Those are two of the features of Diigo I can see myself using in the future as I can see it being extremely beneficial in taking notes or doing research. Blogging has become a big part of my life, with so many different social media platforms there's always a way to blog or vlog(video blog) your experiences. Blogging is a great way to capture memories as well as emotions at the time. Blogging is also a great way to engage with family and friends when sharing just thoughts and feelings. Like in this course, seeing someone blog about a similar experience allows you to connect with them. A Web 2.0 tool that I would use is Schoology.  Twitter is a great social media platform for netwroking. I've met some of my closest friends and classmates on the app by simply having similar interests. I think it's a great tool to bond with like-minded people. I can see myself using Twitter in my desired career to meet other teachers and learn different teaching stlyes. Digital divide can cause a hinderance to students' education. Since all students may not have access to the same resources it can be difficult for students to learn. The pandemic was evidence of that, since students were forced onto remote learning, many can testify that it has been harder to learn. In  my classroom I would want students to let me know if they may not have internet or a computer if needed in the classroom so that I can accomodate them. I chose the standard LAFS.910. L.3.4 from grades 9-10. The standard's purpose is for students to know the meaning of a word or phrase based off of context clues. This is an essential standard because we often see words we may not be familiar with therefore students should know how to use context clues to have an idea to what the words may mean. I do feel that I am able to implement this task as I’ve done it often by making myself familiar with sentence structures as well as context clues.   The Instructional Resources tool in the English section of grades 9-12 is one I would use in my own classroom. Being that this is a time that students can be preparing for the next level of education knowing how to write an essay can take them a long way. Not just knowing how to write an essay but knowing the elements and exactly what specific writing techniques spice up your writing.
